Brad Self

Hello and welcome to my personal bio page. I look forward to sharing my story with you and how I got started along my path in life through sport. I grew up in a sports family in the sports town of Peterborough, Ontario. Regardless of the time of year I was always playing something. Being Canadian and having a dad that played professional hockey I was on skates at a very young age. I was then introduced to lacrosse by a couple of Peterborough Lakers who were running workshops at schools in Peterborough when I was 6. For the next 24 years I played hockey every winter and lacrosse every summer. Year after year I would put one set of equipment away and pull the other one out. I loved both hockey and lacrosse and have been very fortunate to have played both sports professionally. I am a big believer in playing more than one sport. Not only did I play hockey and lacrosse but I also played soccer, basketball, golf, ran track and cross-country. The skills you learn from each and every sport will only make you a better athlete and player.

Over the years I have worked in many different hockey and lacrosse camps .I am not only passionate about playing the game of lacrosse but also about teaching the game to the next generation of players. My whole life I have been involved in sport and I’m thankful for the knowledge and sacrifice my family and coaches have made to help me become the person and player I am today. I want to especially thank my wife, parents, grandparents and brothers for the sacrifices they made and for their never-ending support.  I look forward to meeting you and sharing my passion and knowledge with you at one of our events.

Sincerely, Brad Self
